Contemporary Garden

Contemporary Garden

Even smaller gardens can get a stylish design with help from Taylor Barnes! This client came to us for a contemporary design, raised beds for depth, a water feature and bright colours to bring the garden to life. As you can see from the photos, we were certainly able to bring this idea to life!

Planting

Starting with the side boundaries, we added photinias to keep the scheme vibrant. The hot shades of red and orange certainly do wonders to bring this garden to life. The raised beds carrying them were painted to allow these colours to pop even more so, creating a bright and welcoming space.

Design

As the garden sloped away from the property, we created two levels to combat this and add depth. The cedar deck moves from the terrace doors to a bridge over a water rill, which is dissected in the middle of the courtyard. Within the raised bed walls were installed lights. For even more depth, the water feature was backed with a mirror.

See what some of our clients have to say about us!

After meeting with several garden designers we decided to choose Taylor Barnes because of their combination of design and building skills. Paul and his team were very pleasant to have around the house and were able to include last minute changes as the new garden evolved. We were so pleased with the outcome that we asked them to landscape our front garden last year as well.
I had engaged Taylor Barnes to design and build our garden at home in the UK. They took our brief, but rather than slavishly follow it, they emboldened and embellished it with their own ideas which complemented our initial thoughts. The result has been a fantastic garden that has given us 8 years of pleasure.
From our very first contact to the moment our garden was finished we have been delighted with the work. We felt that they really wanted us to enjoy our garden and were excited by the project which gave us great confidence and belief. Our garden is now an extension of our living room and looks so much better than we could have ever anticipated.
Having decided to create a special look to a farm courtyard I employed the services of Taylor Barnes. From the beginning the venture was exciting, and they were enthusiastic and creative. The design drawn was amazing and when it came to fruition I was more than pleased, it was every bit perfect.

Front Drive and Garden

For this project, we were working with a large family that owned multiple cars. However, the client still wanted the drive to resemble a garden. It should

Contemporary Gravel Garden

This client sought a contemporary gravel garden that would stand out from the rest. However, despite wanting to create such a visually stunning space, the garden must be designed in a way that would be easy to maintain. This would mean limiting the number of plants and focusing more on contemporary pieces such as a

This client sought a lawn with beds and a path that led down the garden, towards a greenhouse and vegetable garden.
